Anglia TV News Featuring the Civic Society with an Item about St Ives Housing

In case you missed the snippet of Christine with Houghton & Wyton Parish Council on Anglia News April 23rd, or on FaceBook afterwards, here is another chance.

At the invitation of the Parish Council we jointly protested the District Council’s proposals to develop the many clusters of housing around St Ives and its villages and around Huntingdon, which will create a massive conurbation as large as 3 new towns but seemingly without the infrastructure!

Inevitably, though we had an hour of the journalist’s and photographer’s time the final cut was only a 2-3 minute snippet but it highlighted the tranquility of the river and our meadowlands so made the point well.

Both we and Parish Council value each other’s support and will both continue to seek assurance from the Council that they will put in place appropriate water-testing, sewage, drainage & flood management systems, transport systems and highways to support the collective developments.
