Dear All,

We know we will be indoors this year because the builders will be racing to complete their work on the Norris Museum, and they will not have vacated the paved area adjacent to the Museum. So, maybe just as well the weather has cooled.
The museum is planning to reopen the last weekend of July.

Our Open Meetings commence the 2017/18 season on 15th September with a talk from Jed Jaggard on The Roman Soldier from Invasion to Withdrawal. This talk was planned for last April but was postponed at Jed’s request because of an earlier commitment which would have delayed his arrival on time if the A14 was running slow. After this Wednesday’s closure for 10 hours whilst a ‘pot hole’ was repaired, maybe he will still need to come the day before!
All next season’s speakers are now listed on our website, see: https://www.stivescivic.org.uk/

At the moment I do not have any plans to write in August, so I hope we all have a good summer as I look forward to the new season in September. |
