New Fencing Along the Guided Busway and User Feedback
Last month, the first phase of the new fencing between Trumpington and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus began.

The Council has been working hard in partnership with the bus operators and contractors, to ensure that new fencing is installed in the best way. As a result, changes to the way work is being carried out to significantly minimise the disruption have been made by installing the fencing with one lane of the busway remaining open.

Cambridgeshire County Council is now issuing newsletter updates regarding progress on work and the first one can be found by clicking the button below.

The Society has received feedback from passengers travelling to work and for leisure. Passengers commented they had been warned of possible delays of up to 40 minutes on some journeys and the journey between St Ives and Addenbrookes often took an extra 20 minutes. More buses were added and some passengers started catching an earlier bus.

Things have settled down and perhaps passengers have adapted to the new situation. Passengers have to factor in extra time if they have an appointment. It has not been easy for the bus drivers either and it is hoped when the safety work is finished, the commute will be quicker, safer and more harmonious for all.
