In September 2023 the St Ives Bandstand, which was erected to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, was formally opened.

Crowds gathered to see The Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Julie Spence, cut the ribbon to open the Bandstand accompanied by the St Ives Mayor (Councillor Philip Pope), Macebearer Phil Ganny, The High Sheriff, Bharatkumar Ketani and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Craig Smith.

Sheila Stones, Chair of the St Ives Town Team, thanked the residents, businesses and organisations of St Ives, including the Civic Society, for raising the funds to purchase the bandstand.

The appeal to raise funds for the bandstand had started in January 2022 and once the bandstand was in place, the Town Council took over responsibility for update and co-ordinating its use.
