St Ives War Memorial - Work in Progress PDF Print E-mail

Wednesday 19th October 2011

Work began this week on the restoration of the St Ives War Memorial. The memorial was first cleaned and then work began on re-painting the lettering on the eight panels around the base.

The work is being carried out by Gary Churchman, an expert in the restoration of stone-work and masonary. Examples of his very fine work can be seen on his website http://www.carvingstone.org.

The photographs show what has been achieved so far in three days.
